1. You are welcome ma. Can we meet you please?

My name is Oladele Okiki. I'm from Ikire town, Osun State. I'm a child of God. I live in Ibadan. I'm a Gospel singer.

2. Tell us about your ministry.

Hummm. My mum was the first person to receive my ministry and name"okiki",even before I was born.

She wanted to be a gospel singer, and she released an album then. But she told me that the Holy spirit told her that it's Okiki that will sing, and that she should go back to her prophetic ministry

So I started leading praise and worship in mum and Dad's church. But I started ministering in churches since I was 13.

3. What have been your encounters about Hymn. Tell us as you remember ma? (What is Hymn to you?)

Hymns are songs from heaven, because most times it's rootless. Each hymn has its own story. Hymns are sacred. My dad and mum told me stories and I later heard some.

For example

*Nearer my God to The

*Uno sunmo O Olorun

I was told that some people were traveling on a ship and there were lots of wind that they couldn't survive it

So a woman wrote this song ,put the paper inside the bottle and threw it up

She also added the story of Jacob where stone was his pillow

And that's why I said hymn is sacred

Though that was the story I heard.

*What a friend we have in Jesus

*Ore wo Lani bii Jesu

I was told that:::

A man had a sick mother,so his mother advised that he should get married so that the wife would be taking care of.her, and that her son will be able to work for money

On the wedding day, immediately after church the wife died

So the man said *alafia pupo lan Sonu, tori a ko fi gbogbo nkan ,sadura niwaju re

He didn't pray about it before getting married,he married because of his mother

That was what I heard o.

*Trust and obey

A white man just decided one day that if God saves him or not

He will trust Him and obey Him,so He said since he decided and gave his life to Jesus

Jesus didn't disappoint him.

I heard that a backslider from Ijebu composed

*Kosu wa lati ma ko Orin ti igbani

Because he backslided from a gospel singer to wordly singer and he was saved by grace again.

So.he said he will never be tired of singing old songs of heaven.

That's all I can remember for now ma & sir.

4. Wow! Thanks so much ma.

I'm sure some of us have learnt from the history books. What are your personal testimonies about Hymn.? Either in your life or during ministrations.

During ministration

Most times, whenever I sing hymn, people will always testify. Most times, healing happens.

5. Glory to God. So, can you tell us ma, the relevance of singing Hymn in our daily praise to God?

It's very important so as not to forget Our Old styles of praising God. It moves God a lot. Shey we know sey it's not "taka sufe". If healing, salvation, praises and prayers are important

Then hymns are important.

6. Can Hymn be used as a weapon to fight in the spiritual realm ma?

Gidigan

In times of trials Asegun ati ajogun ni a je

When you don't what to pray about Wakati adura didun, and so on. It's a great weapon.

7. English Hymns and Yoruba Hymns, which one do you prefer personally that moves you and why?

Yoruba! Even if it's not hymn I prefer Yoruba.

Most times when I hear God's voice and the homages he gives me. It's Yoruba. So I like it.

8. What do you have for the pastors that have neglected singing Hymns in their Church?

They should go back to hymn

The thing is most churches believe that hymns are for C.A.Cs and White garment churches. So we need to understand that hymn is important

Olorun nbe bii ti atijo

So we need to praise him like Atijo.

9. We are into a Hymn campaign, where we want everyone to know the power in singing Hymn, and we want you to say something about it ma.

There are lots of messages in hymns that God is passing to us and through us.

Let's find it very necessary to sing in every churches, who knows the soul it'll bless. #Hymn

10. Can you please talk to us about Prophetic connection that brings encounter through Hymns?

Chaiii...This makes me remember Ija dopin ,ogun si tan

Our Father David sang it,yes they died, but there was no prepared place for them in heaven, not until Jesus died. Someone received this,as hymn, and as prophecy, it's an encounter!

Sometimes, when we sing these hymns, it leads us to the throne of the Father, going to the throne of the Father is an encounter,so how will one go and visit God without prophecies, ko possible. Everything connecting us to God through Hymn.

11. So how can Hymn be used to connect us to the throne of God just as worship does?

Singing it with understanding

As inspiring as "Gbogbo aye.gbe Jesu ga" is, some people will sing and you'll feel irritated. So we need to sing it with better understanding and in spirit. We doing that, we'll be very fast in connecting to the Father, Even if we are alone, the fact that we know that hyms are sacred and most of them are prophecies, we'll connect anytime, any where.

12. So Some people have categorised HYMNS as OLD SCHOOL SONGS, may we know your opinion on that?

That why said

Olorun nbe bii ti atijo

Awa lao sin Baba bii ti atijo

It's because they so much believe those Wordly songs, forgetting that our fathers and mothers, got healed and saved by this so called Old Songs. And that's why we are not enjoying Holy spirit like they did. How many of us used water as petrol through the Holy Spirit? We just need to know that in the spirit, we are lagging behind. We are about to loose what we got directly from God. And we are now using ideas and experiences.

13. Do you believe someone can compose Hymns nowadays ma?

Yes! I strongly believe. My mum had new 7 hymnal songs before I was born. She only taught me one out of all.

14. Lastly ma, Is there anything you want to add that we are yet to talk about?

All we need to know is that,

Being far from God will block our faces from seeing old songs as a faster way to connect to God.

15. We appreciate you for your time ma.

It's a privilege

Thanks for loving God in me.🙏🙏🙏
